He’s on a Wolverine kick June 30, 2009

I’m sure you’ll remember this picture…..

Today while the rest of us were taking a nap, Jackson watched some Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon. And he made this out of foam. Pretty impressive.

The back of it

He hasn’t seen the actual Wolverine movie by the way. And he won’t be seeing it so I’m not exactly sure what has peaked his interest in the X-Men all of a sudden. After he made this he said that if he grows up to be a video game designer he’s going to make a game called “Foam Wolverine.” Whatever dude.

This is a first!

Okay, for the first time in my blogging history I’m going to put up pictures of every room of our house. (And I did not work hard on the pictures at all so please excuse the quality) Except the bathroom because the bathroom and I are not friends and I can’t reward it by taking pictures of it. But it’s relatively clean too. Phillip and I both have been busting our tails the last couple of weeks or so getting this house back in order. I have let everything go this school year because I could barely even keep my family fed and clothed half the time. I know there should be before pics but believe me there are not. Now I know to some of you out there this is not really clean to you. It’s not perfect by any means. We do not do perfect here at the Hintze house. There are still some things we want to organize and buy but for now…. OUR HOUSE IS CLEAN!!! I can’t even believe it.

The boys’ shared room. We un-bunked the beds and put them side by side. Once we’re sure Mikey won’t fall out of his, we’ll get rid of the rails and his bed will look like Jack’s. This is hand-me-down furniture from some family friends. Maybe once we know they won’t destroy it we’ll buy them new furniture. Which means that might never happen. And their shelves still need to be organized but believe me, they don’t care.

This is mine and Jackson’s shared office/school room. This room is still very much a work in progress. I still have to buy and organize the curriculum, organize the closets, book shelves…. and so on. But it’s usable right now. This is the room I’m most afraid of returning to its original state. I will really have to work at keeping this room clean because it has so many functions. I love how Jack’s computer has dinosaur stickers on it. It’s his and if he wants to put stickers on it, that’s fine by me.

I found this guy at Target and he asked to come home with me and I said “sure.” He’s a seat for Mikey as well as an assistant when I photograph newborns.

This is Phillip’s office “cave.” It’s still a work in progress too. It’s mostly how he wants it but he’s going to be mounting his monitor and getting a manly leather chair. Oh and I ordered 4-12X12 pictures of our boys to go on his blank wall. They should be in today or tomorrow. That will look cool.

And this is our bedroom. Nothing fancy but we like it. I still want to get an actual bed or headboard. We’ve never had real bedroom furniture. But anyway, I would like for you to meet Bed, who happens to be my very good friend. I love Bed. This picture is terrible. Oh well.

The living room/dining room. It doesn’t look like this 90% of the time. As soon as Mikey walks in the door he starts littering the floor with toys and throwing pillows around.

The kitchen and I aren’t really friends either but I like it better than the bathroom, which really doesn’t say a whole lot. I HATE the apple wallpaper. So terrible. But we’re too lazy to take it down. We’ve been looking at it now for over 7 years.

And last but certainly not least is one of our hall closets. This closet was so bad that you had to open the door with extreme caution and close it really fast before something fell out. This closet was crammed full of junk and stuff we never used. Now it is all out of our house and lives. All of these games were stuffed in Jackson’s closet. It was such a mess.

So that’s our little home. I feel so relaxed here now. Before I felt tense and like a failure every time I walked into a room. I just hope we can keep it this way. Now maybe we’ll be brave enough to actually have company more often.

I DID not take these pictures of Jackson getting a hair cut…
with my FLY DOWN!!! What?! I haven’t forgotten to zip my zipper since I was like 12. Nobody forgets to do that. It’s like second nature to zip your zipper after buttoning.

And I did NOT lose my diffuser for my flash AGAIN!!! You know, the one I just replaced because I lost the last one a month ago. More importantly, I DID NOT find and dig it out of the trash!! And use it!!! That’s gross. Nope, not me!

And I am not currently driving around with an expired inspection sticker. I maintain all of my vehicle stickers and all that other stuff. I do not EVER wait until I get a ticket to go get updated stickers. That’s irresponsible and lazy. And thus, not me.

Mikey plays blocks

My little chaos man likes to line up blocks sometimes. He did this all by himself. He’s a genius.

Then he rearranged them a little bit and used them for some jumping practice.

I don’t think I ever put these videos up for some reason. Andrea recorded this at their house before they up and moved off to Freakin’ Singapore. This is probably from a couple of months ago I guess. Anyway, it’s funny.

And just for fun, here’s this video too. This is from several months ago. Debbie took this video at her house. And that noise at the end is Debbie getting on to Mikey for knocking stuff of the table. He’s a lunatic!

This is Strength

He is not quoting a moving or anything that I’m aware of. He just kind of made this up I guess, although it does sound kind of like Hans and Frans from Saturday Night Live. But Jack’s never seen that as far as I know. Jackson thinks pretty highly of himself.

I’m proud to say there’s not much to deny but there are a few things.

I so did not forget to call a client on Saturday morning to set up a time to meet with her to deliver her CD. I always read my calendar and never forget to do the things that I put on it. But if I had forgotten to call her when I said I would, I would have eventually remembered and called her a little late. But when I called her I didn’t accidentally call the WRONG client and proceed to talk to her like she was the other client. She wasn’t completely perplexed by the whole thing. She didn’t politely let me ramble on for entirely too long even though she didn’t really know what I was calling her about. Ha!Ha! That would be crazy if I did something like that. But I didn’t so it’s all fine.

I didn’t act a bit too nonchalant at the park when Mikey almost got plowed into by a kid on a swing. I didn’t say that he needs to learn the hard way. I did not get fussed at by another parent for being careless with my kid. No Way! I would have yelled, ran, begged, dove to keep my child out of harm’s way. I would not have casually watched him get his teeth knocked out. I’m a better mom than that. Promise.

I didn’t lose my mind at the grocery store and buy stuff to make rice krispie treats, s’mores, and chocolate chip cookies. I only buy healthy stuff for my family. I wouldn’t waste money on that kind of junk food. No way, not me! And since I am a seasoned pro at making rice krispie treats, I didn’t make an unbelievable mess. I certainly did not think it would save time and be easier to mix the cereal and marshmallow goo with my ungreased hands. That would be quite stupid. I would know that it would get stuck all over my hands. And I did not then proceed to eat the equivalent of about 6 rice krispie treats off of my hands because I didn’t want to waste it. I certainly didn’t try to wipe the last bits off with a dry paper towel as to basically tar and feather my hands with marshmallows and paper. No, I would know that would be a disaster. Phillip didn’t have to come and finish up the treat making job because I was too incapacitated to do it. He didn’t laugh at me while I was eating that mess off of my hands. No! I can make rice krispie treats! But I don’t because they’re junk food!

Our friends made it to Singapore. They are like 11 hours behind (ahead)? of us…something like that. Anyway, it’s like 10:00 p.m. here and it’s probably 11:00 a.m. there. Here’s their blog link.

I’ll be stalking their blog for the next 2 years. There’s also a link to their blog in my sidebar thingy.
