Not Me! Monday June 8, 2009

Check out My Charming Kids to see hundreds of other people who “didn’t do” anything wrong this week!

Since I started doing this I worry a little that there might come a week that I actually won’t have anything to write.  This is not one of those weeks.  Chances are, it will never be one of those weeks.

On Monday I DID NOT arrange for someone to come work on our floors on Wednesday without giving any thought or planning whatsoever to the details of being out of our house for  a week.  Phillip and I totally didn’t wait until Tuesday night (7:30 p.m.) to move every bit of furniture out of our living and dining room and pack our clothes for a week.  We didn’t wait until that evening to pack Jack’s stuff for the next TWO weeks because he was going out of town.  No way.  I would have planned that better.  I would have made lists of everything that needed to be done.  I would have packed a day or two in advance, unpacked, and packed again just to make sure I didn’t forget anything.  BUT….if we had waited until the last minute to do that stuff, we would have knocked it out in just an hour and a half because we’re cool like that.

Tuesday morning I did not completely forget to go to Jackson’s award ceremony at school.  But if I had forgotten to do that I probably would have gone to eat lunch with him to try to make amends.  But if I had done that, I would NOT have taken $1.50 from Jackson’s bank to pay for my own lunch. Nope, not me!

Wednesday morning I DID NOT walk right into a corner at my mom’s apartment and ram my forehead into the wall.  I did not almost cry.  I sure didn’t snap at my mom for trying to offer me comfort and I certainly did not utter a couple of mild curse words once I was out of my mom’s earshot.  Nope, not me!  I don’t do stuff like that.  EVER.

Saturday evening I did not send my two year old precious baby down a two story slide on his belly all by himself.  That would be quite irresponsible especially since there was a sign clearly stating not to go down head first.

And last but certainly not least, I did not accidentally run over part of the tricycle that Donald and Debbie have at their house for Mikey to ride.  But if I had done that, I would feel really really really bad and beg their forgiveness and buy a replacement tricycle assuming Donald can’t miraculously fix it somehow with his magical yellow string.

He looks like he had fun, even is he wasn’t supposed to go down that slide! Sorry about the tricycle, maybe it’s fixable…

How have I been missing THIS?!
    I’m totally stealing it.

  3. Jenny Hintze Says:

Well, if you do, you should link back to MckMama’s blog. She started the craze.

  4. Mom Says:

You don’t know how much good these “Not me, Monday’s” are helping me, since I’ve been thinking for so long that you and my other kids are probably thinking my mess-ups are because I’m getting older. At least I have that excuse, and you don’t.

  5. jhintze Says:

Why don’t you rub it in?!

Besides, you probably have lots more of these “incidents” than I do and the inability to remember them during the week to write about them. So there!
